A hero's attributes may not total more than 6.

Strength: Strength governs what weapons a hero may use effectively, and determines, in part, the hero's hit points.
Magic: Magic is a measure of a hero's ability to cast spells. Hero's with a high score will cast spells easily, while those with low scores will have difficulty casting the simplest spells.
Combat Bonus: Combat Bonus is added to a hero's combat strength regardless of what weapon is being used.
Hit Points: A Warrior's hit points will equal strength plus five; a Thief's, strength plus three; a Wizard's, strength plus one.
